Skills Accelerator is an online learning & assessment tool that enables the candidate to gain & test knowledge or behaviours in defined situations. It can be used to test observational accuracy for compliance or customer service, policy implementation, negotiation or overcoming objections, or simply used to support recognition & reward for skills improvement.
It is not a 100% replacement for face-to-face training but does allow off-site assessment, or gradual learning according to ability or time available. It is a standardisation of assessments ensuring that all candidates complete a standard rigorous test.
As part of an on-the-job training regime, candidates can apply knowledge as soon as they are confident to do so rather than wait until the whole course has been completed. A learning & assessment module can also be accessed to recheck knowledge & help build confidence.
The basic ingredients of Skills Accelerator are:
- Clear identification of task & desired outcome
- Segmentation by user & stage of learning
- Development of learning content by dimensions & online assessment
- Delivering the initial training linked to the online assessment requirement
- Results assessments – peer group comparison of performance & analysis of failure points
- Next steps – including extension training to higher skills or retraining against targeted improvements over time
